I don't think so, just looking at their bond rn, they are probably much closer than we think. Also base on what i observed, it seems the ML is still looking out for Frey even though Frey has only been training. It seems they also go for dinner and do that in past two months.
I think the reason why many people (and i) think that the story is confusing is because the sudden time skip, it might seem its just a two days since they met but they already have a bond of 2 months.
