if they wanted to change the original story from the novel to make rize more sympathetic to the readers, they should've incorporated her pov and turmoil from the beginning. But no, they show that she very much leans into her role, even knowing that the people possessing Edith are real people who die due to her actions. She does them anyway, and happily.

But no, they choose to give her flashbacks in the last act of the story. I assume its because in the novel rize pretty much got off scot-free even after edith found out she had gotten many other ediths killed, so they are trying to justify the inaction on edith's part by saying rize is also worthy of sympathy. I'm guessing that's also why edith's torture and helplessness is non-existent. And the fulfillment of the last condition is glossed over.

They thought the weak link in the story was the part where rize not getting justly punished was not justified properly in the novel, so they try to do a last minute patchwork fix to be able to justify that. When they should've been fixing up the part that rize gets properly punished for all the crimes we've seen her commit as the villain of the story.

It's not a weak link cause she loses everything anyway and ends up in a motesory (idk how that's spelt lol) pr something else after. So she gets her karma anyway. In fact i think she was executed for trying to decieve the royal.family after the edith situation
