Mooyoung has the shiny things that it’s technically a cheat code but when it comes to his acting it is all hard work se yes, similar but not the same
while it was not exactly a positive cheat, being badluck all in all...
seeing the "definite" cause of misfortune and the possibility to change it, was another kind of cheat, no? so that he could prepare some life-saving move beforehand.
In Mooyoung case, he would "intuitively sense" (knowing the result, but not the exact reason) which "thing" is the fortuitous one, and it also let him avoid those... miscreant bast*ards of the entertainment industry.
both "cheats" were unrelated to their acting talent too (no character immersion plug-in)
similar in the way "seeing one's luck", but in the opposite direction... I guess
and both were "subtle guiding" type
I guess you’re right, I hadn’t thought about it like that.
To me Yoonjae’s misfortune is not a cheat because it’s bad, it doesn’t help him and so by association, the fact he can now accurately pinpoint the target and the result of his misfortune (although the still doesn’t know what exactly will happen and when, like when he knew Haeun was going to hurt her eyes so he followed her around to protect her since he didn’t know when or how she was going to get hurt), to me that didn’t feel like a cheat, it was almost a burden, since he know knew exactly the consequences and who would be affected, it’d make it hard morally to ignore it and continue living like before. (Although, with the mc’s personality he never ignored it he just tried to move forward trying his best not to hurt anyone.)
But like you said, none of the “cheats” are related to their acting talent, Yoonjae and Mooyoung are similar but on opposite sides of the spectrums.
normally I too, wouldn't consider only (seeing and) bringing mishap as proper cheats,
however, when the possibility and capability to change that were included, we should give it a new perspective and appreciation.
usually for a Seer, it's the biggest taboo for them to change what heaven has decided, or worse, they couldn't do anything
This right here is the genius among other mc, hahaha no cheat but talent and hard work only, not regressor, reincarnated and only knows future misfortune
