The friend was so long time ago that I forgot most things
But the capsule didn't work for the friend and he was just an extra, just remained a friend, I strongly recommend reading again it gets better with each passing chapter

I read this a few years ago and dropped it because of the cliffhangers. Was around the part where the friend goes into the capsule and disappears for a few days and that triggered my paranoia. Does the plot get better from that point? Does the friend become friend or foe later?
