I feel like there’s alot missing from the plot. Like, what even happened?

i think the author is implying the old Chairman drugged and sa'd mc, but since he was a child back then im sure it was uncomfortable for the author to draw that out so they just hinted at it

not gonna lie im completely lost too theres a lot of unexplained stuff going on

Hosu’s dad was a pedo, he sa a lot of kids from the same orphanage he sponsored (he was very famous and wealthy), the sa victims were paid off probably thinking they wouldn’t win but Nagi wanted revenge but before he could get it, the chairman died. He was so devastated that all that he suffered due to that (working with the shit head as a “companion “) was basically in vain as he did that to gather information and stuff. He wanted “anyone “ to pay and who better than his sin (Hosu)? In the beginning they show Hosu jn a really bad light but suddenly they’re both in love with each other and you know the rest.
