I don't think that's the case. He is just being stupid: he is still behaving like his overconfident old self, because back then he could fight his way out of any situation, but this body is too weak and he has yet to do anything to change that.
Is it me or I feel like he is getting less stronger? Like the longer he stays in the body the more he becomes it? He is slowly gaining the original guy's memory and he's physic is becoming less strong.
