Erez is confusing me. In the previous life he was merciless towards MC and in this life he's oddly smitten with her. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be an obsessive yandere hiding his true colours. Was he in love with MC in the previous life but in a twisted way to see her angry and torment her? Did his family twist his personality back then?
Then again he wouldn't threaten mc in the previous life with execution in the gallows. Seems like he was expecting her to cling to life in anyway and hence asking her to surrender and be under his wing. He asked to surrender twice. I suppose this is where Diabel intervened as it seemed like Erez had an alternative to chain MC to him anyhow. Again, this is just a baseless speculation with no evidence.
I don't really trust Erez in this life either. Him being manipulated by MC seems too perfect that it's suspicious. He's also from the Russell family, and it's odd he is not aware of the family's scheme to destroy MC's family. It could be that his acting is very perfect and MC might be the one being fooled even if she's taking precautions. He may be aware of the conspiracy and might be trying to save MC in his own way (which means he chose to abandon MC's rest of the family if that's really the case).
