but obv it impacted him and made him
who he is, i dont think author was trying to make us feel bad but rather understand his environment so we know what his personality’s like that

also him seeing i love u off that regiment is full blown delusionㅋ

    It does justify it tho they abused him since he was a little kid he never learned what wrong and right or how to handle his emotions. He's just used to doing what they asked of him.

    This! As much as I feel bad for him, it simply explains or gives reason to his behavior - but it doesn't justify it at all. I hope all the characters gws and gets character development if that's even possible

    It doesn't justify his behavior, it explains it. Of someone grows up thinking it's ok to hit someone because that's literally all they know to do, it doesn't mean they can beat their children or partner.

    To say that his behavior is, "justified" is so harmful to his victims (the person he kidnapped and tortured, also the mc). It's just dissolves all the damage he's caused.

    He doesn't need prison but he needs a psyche evaluation and then to be placed in a mental care facility.
