I’m talking about the very beginning of the story. If the story does not show there’s a third party in the very first few chapters, then people will not predict or assume it will be a love triangle. I never said anything about the end of the season.

People don’t want to waste their time reading something that they know they’ll end up hating because of a trope being included later on. No one knew that it would end up being a love triangle as it was still in the early stages.

There’s several stories where the ex is simply an antagonist that the mc hates or the ex is only mentioned as a source of trauma. No one knew how exactly the mc thought of his ex. For all everyone knew, ppl thought he’d be over the guy. It’s only the continuation in the very first chapter of the 2nd season that confirms his current thoughts of his ex.
