Seems you've misinterpreted the meaning. He loves the uke but he's refusing to admit he feels the same. He's just saying that the uke will eventually fall for him with his heart too
He is an asshole. I doubt the veracity of his heart. His habit of lying to manipulate and get what he wants is problematic.
