Late reply, but they just end up together. Garon doesn't change, only gives mc more freedom but still within his control. Mc falls in love with his mother's murderer, who also raped him and killed countless of innocent people. Garon is given the antidote, so he lives while having mc like a glorified version of a pet. He is not redeemed in any way, he is exactly who he seems to be. This is a twisted story of a monster and a second (mc) monster/victim (because monster often have been victims too) who falls in love with it. Personally, i understand how the constant interaction can build a trauma response which leads to a, uncontrollable connection with someone, however while i do understand it, i condemn it, as i would rather kill myself than be with the person who murdered in cold blood my family, and on top of that, for no reason at all.
Sorry for the unprompted share of my opinion. Either way, the story is well written and twisted. Not for everyone.

Yes, Garon killed mc's mother (based on the novel) and yes, second ml is innocent aside from his drunken behavior (he's still an angel in comparison to Garon). Accept it already and don't search for a justification just because you feel bad for liking a horrible character.
Garon IS a rapist, IS a murderer and IS racist. Mc is going to fall for the murderer of his mother. Oh and he killed mc's mother just because he was bored. Being bored made him feel like wiping out a whole tribe with different species since he considers them disgusting and bellow him. There wasn't a single meaning behind his actions, it was like changing a channel on tv for him.
That's who Garon is. There's no redemption for him so don't expect any. He's a sadistic sociopath. The story is dark and there's not going to be any 'groveling' the way people want it.
If you like him, go ahead, nobody's gonna judge you, it's fiction. But he is who he is, let's not be delulu.
