I think you so right. It's their mistake, Jiyan Yi and Zheng Xi ARE the main couple. it's just that it's been so long since they don't have screentime that people forgot they are the MCs.
If you doubt just read the begining and see how much time Mo and He took to show up and turn into a potential couple
It's obvious the author didn't have this story direction in mind when she started, and the plot really started in the middle of the series... So idk why y'all (and yes, it's y'all cause look at the comment section here and on twitter) cry about Jian/Zheng after every chapter of Mo/HeTian

I get that which is why I said I love all the characters. It’s not wrong to wanna see more of the main couple’s story. I honestly think YALL are taking this the wrong way… it’s not like I don’t like this story I just wish I saw more of the main couple’s, thats not wrong to say.
