Haiii I’m like, genuinely confused by all this but uhh, even though the summary doesn’t tell you how problematic this is or sum, yandere by definition is problematic and other story’s you probably seen or not seen didn’t really have those, what you call “yandere” traits you see in this one? Idk but yeah it’s fine to drop this story everyone has different opinions and people can still be interested in story’s even if they’re bad, I don’t really like it either but I’m still reading cause I’m curious on how it’ll go so there’s that- also yeah you didn’t know and all you were doing was just saying your opinion and picking out the bad traits that are definitely wrong and shouldn’t be used in real life, and I get that responding to people that just don’t get it or understand or whatever, I’m doing it as well— so I just want to say it’s best to ignore :) both sides are right and could be wrong at the same time (idk why I’m saying all this but just thought to let you know or anyone who reads this know lol)

Also my bad, at the beginning when you were reading this I forgot you didn’t know it was yandere yet (at least that’s my assumption based on all this, if not then my bad again sorry)

I love this manga but i hate ppl like you who get mad at others for disliking or for simply critisizing it in a public comment section where everyone is free to express their opinion! Youre getting all mad and emotional over a comment. Also there is a spoiler allert right in the beginning so stop yapping

oooook i went and read them raws and i am here to add a bit of clarification to the spoilers so like if you don't want to get any more spoiled that you've been reading OP's post then do not read on~

so i can't blame him for the chaining up thing. (skip to the end if you want tl;dr) as we all suspected; she was originally going to be the saintess in her first life. and as the spoilers stated above; her powers awaken at age 20. i was kind of skimming this area because it was already spoiled but it looked like there was also something about 20 being when human souls are tasty. idk. fr skimmed hard. anyways. i did for sure see that the demon king who's marked her and keeps eating her has the power to turn back time -i think this was translated already?- and so in order to grow stronger again after suffering grievous wounds during lisette's 1st lifetime and mutually dying with the heros party...it didn't quite die in the end and was hiding, biding it's time, and eating lisette every time she was reborn because a saintess's soul provides a lot of power when consumed.

now then onto the whole chained up part. wizard boi had spirited her away to saintess where all the above was explained and they basically asked told her that ralph would throw away his life for her and she'd endanger him and they wanted to -i skimmed here too sorry so not 100% accuracy- keep her away until things were handled. i think they were going to make her the next saintess maybe. idek. i was distracted but anyways they were going to put her up in a forest under protection and she agreed but asked for the weekend with ralph first. she basically answered his feelings finally and enjoyed a short dream of them being happy together and then ralph and nadia left and lisette teleported -wizard boi- back to the saintess and entered confinement in a forest. very much back to some semblance of her life in the sanctuary. but then ralph appears, drenched in blood, full yandere, is like spiraling and ily you responded to my feelings ILY IT'S ALL OK NOW knocks her out and she wakes up with her foot chained and behind bars in his house. eventually kind of accepts it.

after some time passes wizard boi teleports in and she finds out the blood was monster blood; the demonic beings were targeting her in the cottage, she's currently in his house, ralph plans to throw his life away for her, and she's somewhere near the stalker picture wall room. he tells her there's 1 other picture of some other chick in there. it's 1st life her. she goes and confirms it and runs into nadia who is like 'i'm ur ally.' and also kind of explains ralph's always good at everything and defs has past life memories. so then lisette returns to her prison. brings up the painting and he confirms he knew her in her first life....as well as in her 3rd. he also has memories of his past lives.......but the difference is he has memories of 13 past lives.

so he begins recalling them. his 1st life was the same as hers. he was in love with her but younger. he planned to confess on her bday. she shielded him when the demon appeared and ended up dying in his arms while telling him /that line about being selfish/ and to live happily etc. he dedicates his life to killing demons. dies wishing to return to a life with her while clutching some gem. wakes up in his next life and keeps looking for her over and over. eventually in her 3rd life he runs into her in the forest on her 20th bday and she's explaining why she's there. past lives. all that. he realizes it's her and he's determined to protect her and also overwhelmed finally finding her. aaaand then it appears and kills him in 1 strike and then kills her and he lay there, chopped in half, life fading, watching he be killed and cursing his weakness again. he keeps reincarnating and 500 years go by again without meeting her. he spirals into depression but he's still desperate to find her. boy goes a little bit crazy between his search, his desire to not be too weak to protect her, and her seeming fate to be killed at 20. and then we flash to his current life while he's on the streets holding the dying nadia and lamenting about how fucked life is, how he loves his sister, how no one will help them and that's just how it is, and how he's exhausted. he clutches her while crying and then lisette appears and reaches out her hand to them.

SOOOOOO~ TL;DR HE'S LOCKED HER UP TO PROTECT HER (assumed) BECAUSE HE'S GONE A LITTLE INSANE LIVING 13 LIVES LOOKING FOR HER AND TRYING TO SAVE HER. he loved her from lifetime 1 and failed to save her in lifetime 3. he's finally got the power as the hero to slay a demon king so he's trying to keep her locked up in safety while he faces off with the demon king who keeps killing her fully intending to throw his life away to let her live. this is NOT the typical yandere plot of OH YOU LEFT ME YOU TRIED TO RUN FROM ME YOU WANT ANOTHER MAN - BIRDCAGE LIFE FOR YOU plot. he does have a bit of a yandere streak to him but it feels more like a /boys gone 13 lifetimes searching for her and dying for her and resisting suicide to keep searching./

Sooo… basically he’s Caleb from LADS lol. Kinda figured that’s what was going on. Not to say that necessarily pardons his behavior. But it gives more clarity… and if I’m honest, while yandere is not my favorite type of lover, I prefer the type that actually have a fairly valid reason for the behavior (namely trauma).

yeah, while i don't always love the yanderes i can somewhat excuse it if the reasoning behind it is solid enough and especially in this case he doesn't seem to be intending to keep her there forever. the goal is to kill the demon targeting her and keeping her safe. plus the whole wizard, saintess, country protection package the others offered her big time failed and she could have died. (seems she nearly did.) so even more so i can't really blame him, lol. boy got trauma in spades wheeze
