For me I could imagine him as uke because he basically acts like Mo to He Tian but with Jian Yi. That is he is the more passive of the two. Thats if we are strictly going by cliches. If we are he fits the uke role like a glove. There are a lot of parallels between Xi/Yi and Mo/He Tian. I could see it work either way but tbh I dont view Xi as a traditional seme type at all.

ugh, yeah that.. it's hard for me to admit but there's a possibility of xixi being the uke.. it's just that i cant really see that happening with his personality and power balance between the two of them (well this is me referring to cliches), unlike momo and tian where even tho momo acts like xixi but mo cant really win against he tian, right? lol i cant imagine mo topped tian(bcs of the power balance).. but out of the two, yi is more emotional and xi can't really be that violent to yi like tian did to momo (without hurting yi too much), and i cant really see yi pushing down xixi without being beaten or (emotionally hurt?) and still have his way with xixi.. well the problem lies in xixi's i guess? any thought?
Honestly speaking I'd prefer is Jianyi is the uke because the way they describe yi is literally how they would describe every uke possible (nice skin, soft hair, beautiful/handsome) and yi looks like the more submissive one in the relationship imo. But submissive ones can be seme too so who knows lol ╮(￣▽￣)╭
The one thing that triggers me / wants Xi to be the seme is how he constantly wants to protect Yi. Yi wants to get stronger for himself, yes, BUT Xi is already strong (and wants to become even stronger) solely because of Jianyi. He'd always do the boyfriend role in their relationship like catching jianyi when he flies towards him, gives him stuffs and takes care of him. While Jianyi has always been dependant and more clingy towards Xixi.
I think Old Xian wants to show us 2 different types of couples in the manhua and how their relationship would play out with different roles -
Xixi and Jianyi = Passive seme where the Uke makes the first moves to flirt
He Tian and Guan Shan = Seme makes the first move and Uke acts passive
