I think its a carry over from other fandoms--Trekkies (or Trekkers), Whovians, The Scoobies (buffy fans)...I haven't seen it in manga or the tlike. But I really like your suggestions. :)

I find the discussion quite tame and fellow fans both more polite and more..simple. Then again I come from the One Piece fandom which is 1000x worse than here.
Bleach isn't big enough to have a name. Naruto fans are called NaruTARDS and One Piece fans OPTARDS.
