if you think more about how he was treated! Put you in his shoes! He was locked up and the other guy threatened to kill him if he was going out etc... Psychologically it's understandable!!!

There's also fear. I heard of one case where the kidnapper would sometimes leave the door unlocked so that his victim would try to escape, and then he'd beat her for trying to leave. It was basically to condition her into giving up on escape.

i agree i couldnt think of the term for those institutions where people with mental conditions go after being arrested for a crime like murder or rape and are deemed "not guilty for reasons of insanity". *law and order theme plays*
