Hi, I'm not confused by the terms. Having fixed preferences means you don't like the couple to switch in bed, for example if you go on twt you can see people have things like this in their bio 左右固定 or just emojis showing that they don't like switching. I'm just someone who's not fan of it so I avoid works that have it.

Pardon the intrusion, But I would like to share my POV as well on the topic,
Of course, either in a story or in real life, it ‘does not matter’ if a couple is switch or not.
However, as people are different, there people who wants to switch, and there are also those who cannot imagine themselves in the ‘other position’.
Obviously, this is also reflected in what kind of stories you prefer to read. If you are not one really into switching in real life, can you really be into a switching couple in a story you read? Not a question of liking or not, but the feeling you would get from it would be ‘weird’, allow me the term.
In my case, please see a simplified explanation here, switching ‘ruins’ my immersion in a story as well. It does not help when sometimes the switching is also not very well handled/supported, or even came out of nowhere. With this, I am not referring to this story in particular.
Peace to everyone, and who read all my comment. This is just my opinion and everyone should read what eve they feel they like LOL
I'm glad I read the comments before starting it as I'm not a fan of switching and only like to read fixed ships (I wish there was a tag showing stuff like that so people who like it or dislike it would know what to expect). I'm happy to see y'll enjoy it tho :)
