i think he knows that she believes it’s best for someone his age to be with a girl in similar age, despite having feelings for him. he’s acting out because that comment still hurts and deep down he wants her to be jealous or possessive instead of handing him over to a different girl.
Im not sure I really understand this chapter. Does he think she doesn’t like or care about him?
