why does this feel kinda rushed? and such a shame they decided to kill off that lovely maid, makes me mad how the mc brought people here and now everyones basically dead. not to mention all the villagers and the workers who helped the her. and WHO OPENED THE DAMN DOOR?? also it's weird to me how quickly she "moved on" after the maid's death and is moving on to the next thing. like i get apocalypse but most of the story so far is just mc dealing with these two guys for no reason and now suddenly the doomsday is here and everyone is gone. feels disingenuous somehow. they didnt even explain how and why the monsters even appeared in such a remote area so quickly. hopefully the will soon enough.

it is sad that suzanna died, but in a setting where you have to constantly struggle and stress over the looming face of death, maybe even we would have a hard time finding the right time to grieve over someone's passing.

also, it's on you for having the assumption that everyone is gone. spoiler alert: the village has survivors. for the explanation as to why the monsters appeared in Brunel, it will be explained soon enough.

would you mind spoiling the reason? I'm half convinced to continue reading this and half not. probably hesitating bc I'm not used to this genre and defo jumped to my own conclusions. also curious why the other male lead disappeared, any answer would be much appreciated.

BTW if anyone else is reading this and you absolutely hate spoilers, please don't read my comment below!!

the reason why brunel suddenly had monsters is shown in ch 21 in less than 10 panels of the chapter. trains weren't working so people had to travel by carriage. in the 6th or 7th panel in ch 21, a man with a huge ass fedora can be seen sitting below the staircase. he's a carriage driver (idk what they're called exactly) and he was the one who brought the infection to brunel.

the other male lead disappeared bc he was in the village and didn't get to meet with cherry when she came back from the train station. he'll be stuck there for 2-3 more days, hiding and avoiding all the monsters before cherry and ethan saves him in the clock tower. (▰˘◡˘▰)

thanks a lot! I'm much more convinced to keep reading now. and it just crossed my mind again, but do you know who opened the gate to mc's property? was it the maid who did and "caused her own death", or was someone else behind it?
