oh girl yikes...

This is another reiteration of the horrible "ugly duckling" stereotype with some mixed body positivity messages-"ugly" person is treated badly until suddenly becoming beautiful after makeover and gets treated better as a result.

Seven years ago, way back when this webtoon was first published, as a teenager I really liked it. I was in (and still am) into nerdy stuff like niche comics and games, and I, too, was horrified of what others thought. Looking back at this manga I can't take it seriously because of the not-so-great themes being tell to the audience. I feel pity for our main character's arrested development, and honestly, the decent art and cliche romance plot line doesn't really cover up what the author is trying to convey.

brb on my way to read lookism instead.

Same girl. Even when the comic first came out I was 11 it always rubbed me the wrong way on how the author would make the ppl surrounding her in her life lowkey treat her horribly just for her looks. The message is definitely giving “love yourself but keep wearing makeup”
