that is very normal for kids to like someone who's nice. It's not really a fast paced, a kid would like their saviour yk since she's not an adult regressor she won't have an adult mind thinking "Oh no, I shouldn't fall in love with a kid." ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Knowing how alone he felt, it's not like he's romantically interested yet. He's just seeing her as similar as a pet. Just like how most lonely and isolated kids are inclined to getting attached to animal companions. She also gives off that innocent and fluffy demeanor, so his case is also not that weird. It's just that most people presented that were interested on her are relatives and he's the only one that is not.
Yeah, but relatives have blood relation. That does mean a lot to most people, he’s a stranger tho I get him finding her cute etc., having positive feelings, but I feel like the way he sees her goes beyond that. I feel like he started caring way too much, way too quickly, I personally don’t really find it realistic. Like he acts like he would do anything for her etc. Idk, for me it just doesn’t make much sense, it’s very rushed
Prolly has something to do with the fact that she has those powers? Maybe he is ubconsciouslly drawn to her because of that. Its not revealed yet what reallt happened to his parents, but he probably has a curse that might have killed his parents but for some reason it distorted his memory because he thinks his grandpa(the emperor) killed them.

Tbh, didn’t he fall for her a bit too fast? Like since the very start he already treated her super special. Being sympathetic and helping her makes sense, but is it enough to want to adopt/give everything to someone after the first meeting? Especially as someone who probably is wary of everyone due to upbringing. Not that I have an issue, it’s good that he’s a good character and a strong ally, I just find it to be pretty fast paced. She didn’t really give him any reason for that (before birthday thing) either besides being cute and pitiful.
