Well, this manga is not set in a western country. Cutting your family off in most Asian countries is not as easy, and there are places like China where your parents can even sue you to financially take care of them in their old age.
Nah. It would've been much better if they cut off that arrogant bastard. He has no respect for MC because of his personal past issue. Kneeling down to get his permission is the last thing I would do, tbh. I'll let him wallow in despair all by himself and marry the person I love, if that was me.
