Still not satisfied with ML’s apology

Agree with the couple post before. In my case, the apology didn’t feel sincere to me at all, could it be the resting bitch face??? Idk the lack of expression is ruining it all. I still feel bad for the MC but i also admire that he still holds his ground, MAKE ML SUFFER MORE BOO!!!

Anyways, l can’t believe i gave this dumb of an ML the benefit of the doubt, i literally thought he had a good reasons for him lashing out at MC but NO. God, what a major disappointment. Ik that people aren’t perfect and he can atone but the atonement is still not worthy to me

i think he was severly traumatized from the past, he had a horrible childhood and endured longstanding abuse. so Eugene was a trigger for him and he lashed out in the most reactive way, plus he has power so his lashing out is equally severe (see: imprisonment, abuse of power etc etc).

this is not to excuse him or anything, i was just trying to figure out the same thing but then i realised like ohh i just think the author didnt do a great job of setting that up. they only mentioned his childhood once and dont do a great job of showing the connection between his trauma, his overreaction, and his emotional state/thought processes to let us develop any empathy or even understand his character at all. maybe they do better in the novel tho ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
