I'm not 100% sure but the way I interpreted that was that the priest had opened the ink pad and planned for the prosecutor to get inked, therefore resulting in him going to the restroom to wash it off, then the father followed soon after (not 100% on specifics been a minute since I read the chapter). I absolutely could be wrong, but I just don't understand why they would mention the ink pad otherwise

what does the blood on their fingers and licking them mean too,it has to mean something it happened twice ??, first the prosecutor scratched finger fom the paper but before that the preist warned him from the shattered glass as he was pressing his hand on it the first time they met ,then the detective licked it for him in the car.
then the priest's own blood he smudged on the prosecutor's shirt in the interrogation room and then he licked his own finger
emm that both the priest and detective are attracted to him?? i don't think that's the only meaning behind it
