It's bc one was in HS while the other in college. As someone in their second year in college, despite being only one or two years apart, I find it weird to date a highschooler. We're just at different levels. It's like a middle schooler dating an elementary school kid. It's weird despite only a year or two age difference. Like a 7th grader has no buisness dating a 5th grader, so why do I have any business messing with a HSer as someone thats a grade 2 college student. Hince the labeling "gap"

You didn't read what I commented properly. It's an age gap if ones a minor and the other isn't, especially if one is in high school and the other is a second year college student. The only way a 2 year age gap is not considered a gap is if they are both out of HS. Age gaps was made to describe weird or unnormal relations, hince why it's a label and not unlabeled. College student × Highschool student is still considered an age gap. A gap in their age.

It's 'cause people consider someone being 18 and dating a 17 yo "illegal" these days.
Someone could literally be 6 months older, landing them at 18 before their partner, and people would have a fit over it.
When I see age gap I'm thinking like 6-7+ years. I'm not thinking someone who literally went to the same schools but one or two years apart. It's brainrot.

Ya'll just moving goalposts atp.
I'd understand maaaaybe an iota if these two were strangers, but they literally grew up together. Madoka has known Tama since the day he was born. They were raised together AND went to the same schools together. Tamaki isn't even emotionally more mature than Madoka given neither of them have any experience other than Tama having a couple girlfriends he wouldn't even kiss.
If you're trying to make this an emotional intelligence argument here then I'll say they are on the same level. Just 'cause someone is in college doesn't mean they're intelligent either. I'm a university dropout 'cause I was too stupid and immature to continue my education lol
I'd say you have an argument if Tama was like 5+ years older, but 2 years ain't shit when they've been in the same schools their entire lives.
seeing people tag this as age gap gave me a whiplash... is 2 year difference under the age gap category now? I know it technically is a gap but it wasn't considered as an age gap TAG before when the gap were small
