The thing is, when you read a long story that you have liked, ypu often become invested in the universe.
So despite not liking the boss stoey, its hard to not read it as its a canon of the story as a whole.
For me, what frustrates me in this side story isnt even the way he treats dajeong. Its the way the author try to portrait it as if he loves Dajeong and that Yi Hyeok is just someone he wants to fuck. While he obviously sees Yi Hyeok more than that.
The story would have felt better if instead, it the author said the boss liked Yi Hyeok and eventually he starts liking Dajeong. (With a chasing arc ofc because im a sucker for that).
Now we are just gonna have Dajeont sad for most of the story and the boss completely obssessed with Yi Hyeok. But near the end its gonna some bs like "i loved you from.the start, but i didnt want to hurt you". :))))
I get people not liking the boss and can’t help reading the side stories anyway. What I don’t get is people making actual comments about not wanting the side stories when they keep reading it anyway lol.
And I think it’s just a matter of perspective/opinion. I believe that the boss truly does not love and is not obsessed with yihyeok. Him thinking of yihyeok doesn’t automatically mean anything deeper than that. I know so many situations where ppl truly just get bored of their current partner and find someone new exciting, thinking of them, until they quickly get over their excitement. The boss is fr not right in the head. He does what he wants, not because he’s in love r thinks he is. He choked the child dajeong cause he wanted to, and he enjoyed teasing the ML by getting close to yihyeok. He literally thought it’d be nice to have a play where he makes the ML watch.

First of all, he was all over Yi Hyeok at the time Dajeong just came back into his life. That alone makes it look like he prefers Yi Hyeok over Dajeon (which again, its fine, but then why is the author saying this guy practically loved Dajeong his whole life). Why would he be all over Yi Hyeok is the person that he has been waiting for years just came to him...
Also for the whole period of the main story, the boss is trying hard to win over Yi Hyeok, even to the point of slamming the mom with his car.
And of course, calling Dajeong by Yi Hyeok name and making Dajeong call him boss.
I understand that at the end, its gonna be said that he never loved Yi Hyeok and that it was only physical attraction or and whatnot....but what he did seems to imply otherwise. So i agree that the situation that you mentionned is a thing, i just th8nk that in this story, it doesnt seem to apply.
Not you getting downvoted when you're 100% right. I don't like the boss as much anymore especially with chapter 11. But I care for Dajeong and want him happy and realize his worth.

I do think it’s funny how much people are complaining about the side stories. Like the main story is over, you can leave this story be, no one is forcing you to read the side stories. And if you’re seriously bothered by seeing it update, you can remove it from your list and maybe check on it way later for the chance of the main couple side story starting. It’s one thing if y’all choose to make comments about how much you hate the boss, feel free to do so. It’s another thing when people are just complaining about the story being made and them just not wanting to read despite clicking on the story every single update and commenting each time LOL. Like at least give something to the table about your opinion on the characters/story instead of reciting complaints about how much you don’t want to read. Commenting how much you dislike the side story being made of him and not the main, is not helping the main’s stories come out faster. The author ain’t gonna read or listen to illegal readers wants lmaooo.
Anyways even if people hate the boss’ story, there’s people that actually like dajeong and want to see him happy, as well as being pretty curious about what’s going on in the boss’ mind. It’s crazy characters like this that are so hard to read, but that’s what’s interesting about it. It’s not straight to the point and not one dimensional character personality. The boss is terrible but he’s interesting to theorize about.

It’s honestly no wonder the boss ended up like that. His dad is a CREEP. Has full on threesomes and sex right in front of his kid, and is creepy on kid dajeong, touching on his leg. Though I feel like the boss could’ve definitely used another way other than choking him to get them to not marry- I also do think it’s not just because he did it for their sake. The machine translation is confusing, but I’m just guessing he did it because he had previously imagined what it’d be like to do the same as his father? Could be wrong though.
