By talking to someone else instead of her own brother she is already being a problem. If she's worried about him being anxious about whether she overheard and how she'd react why not just solve that problem by...telling him she did overhear but it doesn't matter, he's still her annoying little brother? Why potentially create a quagmire by contacting another family member who may not know and may be homophobic? She's decided to play private investigator for no good reason. Older siblings are so dumb sometimes. (I'm an older sibling.)

I'm mostly hoping she wants to contact the other sibling to talk about it with him and tell him they don't care about who he loves ?
This is just me being optimistic (and also lots of BL handle the whole thing horribly most of the time or just gloss over it)
But I get what you mean, i'm also the oldest in my family, and usually i just directly talk to my sibling without involving others
