People are going to be pissing on me for this but I, sometimes, feel like this manga kind of parallels or borrows from Naruto. Don't get me wrong, I love this manga but it's just a feeling that won't go away.

Naruto specifically? Not really. BNHA is very shonen by the numbers tho (specially at the beginning)*, so i see where you're coming from.

It's not like naruto taking cues from hxh for the chuunin exam and stuff like that, that is more of an obvious influence. Here is more like a lot of tropes from the genre.

*I'm not saying this is a bad thing per se, it manages to make it interesting so it works quite well, but we can't deny it is very typical shonen.

Well, I wasn't talking about the action/shonen stuff. I was drawing more on characters and how they relate to one another.

To me, it reminds me of Assassination Classroom. The hole class gets their time to shine and be the spotlight... everyone is important somehow(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

I do get what you're saying. Both naruto and boku no hero academia are following mainstream genres which involves lots of actions and signature moves. However, that's still a bit too broad. naruto and BNHA aren't actually similar other than the fighting. For others who have read a ton of mainstream they may not understand where you're coming from. Hope that helps

I totally agree with you! I thought I was the only one! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
But after reading when the series was somewhat new, a lot of people thought it reminded them of one punch man....I think it just has a lot of inspirations from other series. Or its super original and we have been in the anime/manga business too long ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Though they are very similair in concept (kids going to school to train their powers) theres a very fundamental difference: naruto emphasizes teamwork, while bnha focuses on impoving oneself

well, we could take the whole rivalry, sad past, weak, never giving up attitude from naruto! the school aspect from assassination classroom and the cool sensei!(koro-sensei is cool like all-might) and then there is one-punch man with the whole hero plot and not to forget the villain!!!! so, this is like a mixture of a lot of anime…making this a unique as well!!!! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ

rather than Naruto, it reminds me more of Ueki no Housoku.
