Bj Alex has the same story, but yea u just have to push through the struggle, still one of my faves tho
I dropped BJ Alex as well—quickly browsed the last chapters to see if I missed anything, and nope. Like you, I find the parasocial and BJ world odd, so I couldn’t connect with it. The art was subpar too.
When people say the plot is like BJ Alex, I believe them, but the art has improved so much, and the plot has gotten better—I wouldn’t even know it’s the same author, I would think it's Mingwa's ghost author. Jinx has a Cinderella fairytale touch. Dan has so much depth and is just so sweet and lovable, while Jaekhyung is a possessive alpha brat who still needs to sort out his feelings. I believe he’s moved by Dan’s love, but Dan still needs to break down the wall he’s built. Now, Jaekhyung also needs to work on the wall he’s created between them.
Guy with no spine gets unnaturally attached to asshole, asshole gets a redemption arc, etc etc. Like I get it, the story beats really are similar, and at this point there's like tons of stuff better than this one lol, but it's always fun to see what's next
Yep, correct, we all know where it's going, let's see how the author is gone take us there. After all, the journey itself matters.
i think the reason why i push through reading this when i dropped bj alex after 20 ch was because of how jk and dan's relationship started, and the reason why dan's fascination with jk started
it feels grounded that dan (who was at rock bottom) felt like jk was the center of his universe, since he's the reason why dan got to live a better life, dan got pulled from getting harassed by loan sharks and working barely paying jobs
to dan, that abuse he suffered through with jk felt like affection, cause he literally doesn't know any better after living a hard life
vs the parasocial aspect in bj alex for me felt weird and creepy
