i get u but like. if you've read serena, the female lead "cheats" on the male lead on there too. personally, I never saw the problem in either of them because 1) they're not rly in love with eo yet 2) the male lead actually was, to put it simply, sort of forced into it? the female lead had her memories of her past lives when she was a kid, and that's how she manipulated him into agreeing to marry her 3) if the female lead doesn't have a problem with it, why should we haha

Because I personally don’t like cheating and he’s supposed to like her since childhood. I’m supposed to believe that he’s in love with her when he literally cheated on her I will pass and even if she “manipulated” him into doing it, he still decided to do it. Personally two things I don’t do in stories and I don’t like it when they romanticize is rape and cheating. Idk why you guys excuse cheating or rape when mls do it but if it’s the antagonist suddenly you hate them for it as if the mls are better than them

yeah i totally get what u mean. I've talked about this before, but for a minute lets flip the table here. let us assume that a girl, at the age of 6, is forced into an engagement by a boy who seems to be the same age as her, but it is actually his 3rd (or 4th idr) time living his life. the girl is also super scared of him right from the beginning. she is not "in love" with him. he proceeds to tell her multiple times that he wants her because of her looks, or that her looks are the only good thing about her. see how damaging that seems now? the engagement goes forward without the girl actually consenting, and there is no option to cancel it due to all the politics. the boy then, for the next idk how many years, proceeds to not show up for her anywhere. he does not contact her, maintains no relationship whatsoever with her. lets also remember that he behaves rudely with most people, and does not really have a good or "nice" reputation in the society. he's an awful person, basically, and the girl hates being tied to someone like that. so she "cheats".
now if this was real life, I would never EVER condone cheating. actually I hate infidelity even in fiction, but this is the one case where I could excuse it, because I could see where it was coming from. it was still a stupid thing to do, I 100% agree. however, I also feel that ines was equally bad to carcel, so it cancels out for me. that's just how I see it though, you're free to have ur opinion!!!

We all have our different opinions personally I don’t think it’s canceled out or excusable in anyway like the other person has to be an abuser or also a cheater to be even excusable. Overall, the story just wasn’t for me. I found the story, extremely boring and all the characters unlikable. I tried to get into the story, but I couldn’t get over the fact that he cheated.
is there a romance everyone likes but u don’t? sorry for me it’s “my in laws are obsessed with me” genuinely the progression was slow because he was never there and they barely spoke and connected enough for me to understand the romantic development n honestly……. likeee.. i just wanted sb better for the fl
