I just came here to reread my favorite manhwa and heal my heart... But I what I found in the comment section is something beyond my understanding... What the f is going on here??? People angry at all the translators and they don't want any more updates..? Wha..? Why? Because it's illegal? Why are we having this convo on mangago, where 99% of content is illegal?
The funny thing is, that of all the mangas and manhwas to choose from, you had to preach about legality on this manhwa's page??? Guys, the chapters are free. But they're in korean. The translator is actually doing a favor for the author because: 1. By translating the manhwa to English, the manhwa can be read not by Koreans and Indonesians only, but by everyone in the world (bc I'm pretty sure 50% of you here are like me and English is not even your native language), and 2. In every credit page ever, the translator is urging us to go to the original korean manhwa site to take a look at the RAWs (which are free btw)! Why? Because obviously it supports the author to have more views, and the author getting more views than they could ever get if the manhwa was only limited to korean and indonesian speakers, is all thanks to the translator for spreading the content to the whole world! And 3. I don't remember which manhwa it was, but there was a credit page, where the translator said that they asked permission from the original author, and got permission to translate it as long as it's free chapters. I think it was "Raising a Bat" manhwa? Might be wrong. Anyway, it's proof that there are authors who recognise the benefit of spreading the content to other countries.

Well that was a long post...
My guess is, that the flame wars started because someone other than the usual translator wanted to translate this cause they couldn't just wait patiently, and someone was not happy about that? And it escalated to now, where even the original point is lost and people are now talking about what's legal and what's not?

Sorry.. but did you also think about the author feeling?
Does the author wants ppl to translate it?
    No I think not.
Why don't u try to ask the author on twitter yourself?
Ask if they happy when someone translate this manhwa illegally.

There is no reason for them to be unhappy, as ir brings them more readers from all over the world. And technically it's not illegal, since there is NO official English translation. Maybe there is some misunderstanding on author's part, because only the free chapters were translated.

There is no official translation, and the translated chapters are free, so it's not wrong and illegal. No one is asking to pay for the English translations either.

do you spend all day reloading the page? it's obvious that you're the same person every single time! but let me tell you, even if it was illegal, it's certain that the illegal uploads created more exposure. hell, if the translations weren't uploaded (mind you that this is a free webcomic and that's why the translator picked it up in the first place) most of us wouldn't even know about this webcomic. overseas promotion which was the translator's goal obviously worked very very well. many people who were indonesian and did not know about comica know about it now. even on the author/artist twitter they say that they are grateful for all of their overseas fans. yes they are upset about it being illegal. but the goal was met, and you cannot do anything about it now. please get off of mangago if you are SO crazy about illegal things, because let me tell you, even the mangas that do not get under fire are indeed illegal

Support the translator? Is anyone paying to the translator?? How exatcly are we supporting the translator? Reading translations itself was supporting the author, because the translator specifically kept telling everyone to go take a look at the author's page! And thanks to that, so many more people learned about it and it got so much more traffic. Of all the mangas and manhwas, which are actually PAID, but uploaded to mangago illegaly, to be upset about THIS SPECIFIC ONE is absurd!
And so you know, I did support the author, I fucking went to the official site every day and from different devices dammit. I loved the webtoon. But since the author does not want us fans from overseas, I'm bitter and am going tu sulk.
