Ijuin's love interest is from Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, another yaoi series by this mangaka. The universes are combined. Actually, Misaki got that bunny from the department that Sekaiichi Hatsukoi focuses on. I'd really recommend you read that series as well. It's really good and explains some stuff
i did read it... iijun is from junjou romantic, hes the artist that misaki likes, yuu is from sekaiichi, and was in love with his friend, chiaki, they were never introduced together until now because the artist wants to pair people up
To be fair it was mentioned that Yuu was a Za Kan fan and working as an assistant before this. I agree it's kinda rushed from our point of view as readers but at least they can get over their rejections.
not gonna lie, it just seems like the artist wants to drag things on even more, so she branched out and created another couple to diverge from the main story line of the main couple. i mean sekaiichi is already draggy beyond belief. i still wait for the updates but each new chapter that comes out for sekai is basically the same as the previous one. takano, onedera, onedera tsundere stuff, sex, then ends with ____ more days until he officially falls in love.
I think the latest chapters of sekaiichi are really interesting. I mean due to Nao we finally know how much Onodera suffered after the break up 10 years ago.
And if you want to know more about Yuu you should watch the anime of sekaiichi hatsukoi. And after that the relationship with Ijuuin won't seem so rushed anymore. In the anime it is shown, that they attended the same party's of the publisher and that Yuu is an assistant of Ijuuin, so there were a lot of occasions for them to get a bit closer. And personally I waited for a long time to see this couple, especially after Yokozawa also got his happy end.
About Yuu, he barely made the appearance in the manga.. but it was more clear in the anime that Hatori would picks up fight with him, being fans with Kan together with Chiaki.
Mostly Chiaki side of the story, which has prob more appearance of Yuu is mostly in a light novel that sensei made. It was barely in the manga. Like how Yokozawa side of the story before he movie came out, it was based on the light novel.
Im quite happy that maybe Sensei is planning to pair them up, cause based on experience... they are both heartbroken.
Plus, its kinda exciting seeing how sensei pairs up a couple from 2 diff series
tbh the pairing seems a bit forced, they introduced him like a few chapters ago, introducing himself as an assistant, which we had no knowledge of before, maybe he mentioned it a little in his part of the story with chiaki(?) and i thought he still like chiaki too, but whatever, iijunn (how ever you spell it) deserves to be with someone, it would be a waste of his good looks, and maybe he'll FINALLY give up on misaki
