Considering the time period it's likely that there weren't any STIs to spread. What we consider the most pertinant STIs in the modern day (Gono,syph,hiv) did not spread to east Asia until around the 16th century(1500s) with HIV obviously not spreading until the 70s and 80s now, genital warts and herpes would have existed, but those weren't actually considered STIs until the modern era, as they don't kill you and don't really affect the overall health of a person.
