I love how granny is written bro, specifically because of how integral she is to both the main characterd thought processes, but she'll lowkey say hella irresponsible stuff. She doesn't know how bad jk is for Dan, but she thinks they have a close bond. I find it really interesting how granny "trusts" jk because of a few key details. I like how she likes him because he's treated her well. It makes me wonder how she would react to jks presence if Dan ever told her about the mad mistreatment. I like how just because granny told Dan's back to jk, it doesn't seem like it really matters to him, but when he hears about his struggling physical condition, something he can relate to, he sees an opportunity. I'm thinking that he's mild concern but I'm assuming it's because he needs Dan to be in peak condition so that he jk can go back to the ring in peak condition. And this is why I like granny, because *usually* i feel like these typa characters are made to be an emotional turning point for the male lead, but the author slightly subverts that trope because jk doesn't have the ability to be empathetic. And this is why he struggles with Dan, his lack of empathy.
I don't think yall understand how much I love jk's character consistancy. I've seen one too many stories where toxic characters will flip on a dime. I love that the author isn't shying away from making jk a massive asshole. He's meaner than alex, so while the plots are similar, this is expanding in a little of a different direction. I hope the creator continues the slow building for jk cuz when it comes, when it dawns on him how shit he's being, omg it's gonna be so, SO good
