He brought this upon himself. If he make excuses that he were just following orders after committing massacres, then how are you any different? Just because the king ordered it you'll destroy the entite clan blindlessly.... Though I understand that disobeying means treason and could make his dukedom suffer so.... Aaaaaaa. I CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW THE EMPEROR SUFFER!!

What??? He literally had no choice if the king says to do something they have no choice but to listen you said it yourself it would be treason what makes you think he brought this upon himself (/TДT)/

I typed that around 3 AM, half-asleep. At that time, I was thinking that he was in a tough spot-disobeying meant treason and doom for his dukedom. But at the same time, blindly following orders and committing a massacre still makes him responsible. Does that justify slaughtering another innocent group? He had a choice. He wasn’t just a powerless soldier-he had influence as a duke, so maybe some resistance? But now that I’m sober... yeah, it was doom no matter what he chose. It’s like I’m looking for a moral dilemma. Bro really had no choice ╥﹏╥. Why is the emperor still untouched?!

It doesn’t justify his actions cuz' he just did his job. He was given an order, and as a knight, he executed it.

If he didn’t like the order but didn’t want to die yet (especially not his people), then he had no choice but to follow it. ( ̄∇ ̄")

Because the emperors plans don’t get leaked. They just assume the dukedom is evil and gets away with it because of his influence. I bet they have rumors of the duke being cold blooded or a war maniac. But really it’s the emperor pulling the strings and looking good in the public eye.
