they literally are noobs. i don't know what's the problem. it sounds like you do not play mmorpgs tho. most games like these started as novice so it's normal for them to use knives and other super basic weapons and only when you reach a required level you can choose what kind of job you wanted.
also, it is one of the techniques i experienced doing while being a low-leveller. Attacking as a group gives makes your experience go up. Then, when you obtain a job and became a bit stronger, that's when you could go solo on maps that matches the job you chosen. weed and party also did this.
I recommend you read the novel.

Fair point. But I've been everything from a lv 89 Beserker to lv. 43 Firran to a lv 99 Pokemon trainer. And yes there are perks to hunting in groups. But when 500+ geomchis gang up on a lv 10 fox, the amount of xp to share is going to be dismal at best. And I was trying to point out that the original goal of the Geomchis was to improve their own "individual" sword skills, but they all hunt in huge groups. That and they have no idea how to stack their stats.

"That and they have no idea how to stack their stats."
totally agree on this HAHAHA.
try reading the novel where this webtoon came from, the translations are up to date. and with how far the novel has gone, the geoms continue to grind the hell out and even risking loosing EXPs (thru death) just to take on a difficult boss... in large groups. they never really changed, except for break out in smaller groups when they realized they are not getting far. but they actually did improve their individual skills later on but they are a dojo in real life and the team spirit is super strong so it's really hard to break off that however they eventually got some workaround on their preferred way of fighting.
They hunt in a group that big the leveling is going to be slow. Especially if all they do is hunt.
Bet none of them picked a job or class.
And if you are trying to improve your individual swordsmanship then why are you attacking I groups!?
