Ik this story is supposed to be fluffy and all since the premise is really nice. But I just can't stand the way the author draws fat people. They just put no effort into it and somehow it doesn't feel like representation at all. The MC feels superficial and his relationship with the love interest seems even more so :(
I KNOW… but to be completely fair, I’ve seen East Asians with more shorter builds who looked like that when they were obese. It’s different in the US or Europe but I think that’s how it just looks

To be completely honest, the fat people exposure I get for Asians is through XHS so I might be terribly wrong… I’ll do some more research on this but yes I think it’s absolutely terrifying how these artists depict chubbier people like this because it can ruin people’s body image

You should!! Usually media especially Asian ones like to portray fat people intentionally ugly weird or as comedic relief I'm Asian and they're nothing like that!!
