yeah it really does show that you didn't read this work past ch10, because though I do agree that there's an entire genre of that type of crap, the MC in this story is actually not a brat, he's outspoken and feisty but it made sense with his backstory, so he's still likeable, his biggest fault was that he already felt guilty but still didn't come clean.
You think readers will react this negatively if he was a bitchy mf too? nah even if we hold the issue of the seme doing a 180 into a account, if the mc was a piece of crap then the sympathy that he'd get would be very few. I know so because I have read that work before about a himbo-like seme who's head over heels for uke but the dude was playing him to be with his bro, so in the end he SA'd him out of revenge - the difference here is that the uke in that story was an actual brat who had no remorse for deceiving him, so even if that was ending, some readers still thought it made sense and had it coming.
Oh? This is more my opinion on where the author's decisions come from. Why did they choose to have a MC's fatal flaw be that "they didn't apologize in time and got graped"? The MC is scamming him, no matter how he feels down the line, he was cocky about it in the beginning and directly fits into people's revenge porn fetish of "knocking them down a peg" because they did you dirty, or are overly-confident, that's where the author gets this concept so I was just saying right when I see the signs I dip. Hearing that the MC already feel guilty just makes the story sound worse and I'm gonna stick to avoiding the signs when I see them.
he wasn't cocky because he was scamming him, he was never cocky, he was scamming coz that was the only "job" that worked for him since he had that leech of an ex-bf sucking everything he earns; he didn't even want to deal with the seme actually on the first chapters; I'm telling you coz you clearly did not read this one. The uke was avoiding imprisonment so he continued with the charade of being another person (the hyung character that the seme fell in love with), and of course the imprisonment threat was first caused by the seme too coz he wanted to find his "fated partner" and wouldn't budge so the uke sold him crap just to keep him at bay, and when ml didn't get what was promised, which was a lover, only then did he push through with the scam allegations against the mc, he only stopped when he met the "hyung" and assumed that was his answered prayer and the charms worked. See how stupid and naive the seme's character is? to pull off an SA action just coz he was angry for being deceived just doesn't make sense, he went with the legal route before, why not do that again instead?
No like I got bored and dropped this at 10 cause I could tell the MC was gonna "get what was coming to him" by the author. Do I have a double standard for MCs? Honestly yea. I'll read stories where the ML does some wack ass shit so me and the MC can clown him and be like "haaa haaaaaa now we gonna play hard-to-get", but I'll never read a story when the ML is the one "taking justified revenge." Why you ask? This season 1 finale has all the answers. When the ML fucks up in stories, the most the MC does is ghost him or get a side bitch and I live for the take-me-back drama. But never ever will I read the reverse unless it's done with utmost care because a lot of authors just have a grape fetish and just want to justify a story where the ML rapes the bratty MC right when the bratty MC realized he's such a "great guy" but he's too late so he has to be the one to chase the ML now. awe HEEEELLLLLLL NO. Chase down a MAN???? Much less a GRAPIST???? In this day and age???? Like some of y'all don't understand this says so much about the author's preferences in stories. There's an entire genre on revenge porn which there's no way the author isn't engaged in stories like "My best friend's younger brother always talks down to me, you fuck around you find out!" ...stupid ah title and all.
