Honestly I think that will be a key point for their relationship, but there's not much about it. Black-haired guy replied to his confession "I can't believe it" and probably our mc run away, so he didn't have the opportunity to elaborate. Of course now the mc is scary of that topic and he never brings it out thinking of rejection. I think we'll have to wait for the black-haired guy (worried about the relationship with the other childhood friend) to corner him and bring out the topic. I think when that happen (depending on the plot's direction) it could be easy to clarify, since black-haired guy can read the mc's face pretty well
