Just Got Whiplash

Whoops I just got whiplash from how fast this story changed direction. First, As several have pointed out the lil' bro clearly showed his love when he repeated insulted his older bro, yeah right! If he had at least been putting it "you're ACTING like trash" rather than "you ARE trash" etc. it would be a subtle but important difference, hinting that he knows his brother is capable of more.

Second, once again a case is being made for the poor misunderstood parent who didn't mean to be mean but was. Older bro just misunderstood her good intentions all along (yeah right again!). REALLY?? SHE was incapable during all these years of being able to sit down and not only apologize herself, tell him she loves him and was proud him no matter what? She just said nothing so what was he to think. And the explanation doesn't excuse her behavior anyway, as no matter how sick she was, she still wanted a perfect son to satisfy HER self-image and needs, so her hissy at his failure was all about her and her issues. So I think he understood quite fine.

Totally agree the mother should have been the adult and explained herself. I can tell how the ending is going to be and im not happy with it also even though you pointed out about the lil bro i still dont like him cuz he still called him a piece of a trash in this chapter. Ugh i just think the older brother is being mentally abused by everyone. But i love the art. The ending is just going to the older brother feeling sorry and bad and apologising i can totally see it. I dont like that ending i hope im wrong

( ̄∇ ̄") Ah, I feel like I'd probably agree, if only I could remember everything that happened in the first chapter... It's been so long I only have a faint idea now... Be as it may, I'm not sure we can apply that "saying you're ACTING versus saying you ARE trash" logic unless you are sure you can apply it to the original Japanese text... I also wonder whether you can even say it in those 2 different ways in Japanese, making that subtle difference. Of course, I don't know Japanese not have I read the raw, so if you do, or if you have, then in that case don't mind me.

I'd think there would be in most languages a difference between being something and behaving like something. I can speak several, and in all there's an obvious difference. Of course I can't be certain if the translator made a mistake in translation, but I am paying them the compliment of assuming they knew their business and translated it as how it was originally meant until I have reason to believe otherwise. But I admit I don't remember every detail of the earlier chapters either and am too lazy to go back and look.

Actually I was saying if lil' bro had said that as it would be better, but as far as I know he didn't. But, yeah, it does look like older bro is somehow going to wind up being in the wrong for behaving badly and "misunderstanding" his poor family for so long. BAH HUMBUG!

Right. I just dont like the ending that will most probably happen.
