Yeah I’ve never felt he’s manipulative, he’s been upfront about his feelings and he’s right to have told MC about everything. But I do feel like he’s not really taking MC’s feelings seriously with the whole “I’m not the XYZ work thing that you hate right now, I’m your neighbor” thing. A) his parody account is a personal project, and B) if MC is genuinely upset by it then asking him to treat it like something that exists in a vacuum outside of their personal relationship is pretty shitty. I think that’s why it seems a bit insincere.
So not toxic, just kind of an asshole IMO.

I think the only reason why people believe he’s being “manipulative” is because he’s not begging on his knees to say sorry. There’s been so many “chasing arcs” in comics that I think it’s making people think if they’re not jumping in a pit of lava to say sorry then it’s not genuine. Bro is making multiple efforts and has apologized multiple times. Though I can see why ppl might feel he’s not genuine, idk something about the way he looks when he’s trying but maybe that just lies with the art idk and lack of good facial expressions.
