hypersexuality as a trauma response! you get it. i felt so bad because her worldview is so warped by how she had been treated all her life, and her being dependent on ML as her only way out (as it seems rn) looks like a manipulation-superhero complex story in the making. it's so reflective of real life problems of women i can't seem to get into the smut since—like u said—there's potential in this as a story of tragedy.
though it does look like the guy genuinely cares for her kinda, i hope FL finds the strength within herself to leave and be empowered on her own. i actually hope they don't get together in this current circumstance. maybe in the future when the girl gets therapy and an education and a job (aka make a life for herself), then she and ML can meet again by chance!

i think this could’ve been a great story if it focused more on their tragic love story rather than smut. like the girl has been sexually assaulted and manipulated her entire life and now she’s hypersexual and the author doesn’t even seem to mention it.
