Yes, this manhwa has a novel and it has eng translation. The story in the beginning is basically Geonho really wanting to die, but ML, Haejung, tries his best to woo Geonho and get closer.

Eventually, Geonho slowly starts to enjoy life because of ML, wishing to stay with him. But then a message gets send from the future (specifically, from his mom), saying that the threat wasn’t destroyed and someone needs to go back.

And because Geonho is the only survivor from the last mission (we also find out that for some reason he was immune to the thing in the future that was literally disintegrating people from inside), so he volunteered, because he loves ML so much and can’t fathom a future where ML can die. So Geonho cuts Haejung off, ‘broke up’ with him (they had a thing where they kiss and do couple things, but don’t label it, so they weren’t officially dating, per se). After that, he goes back to the future to figure what the fuck is going on and how did the mission fail.

Then we find out what exactly happened. Basically, Earth used to send signals into space, right? So a single alien from advanced civilisation got interested. The alien (the novel call them ‘alien’ for reader to understand, but they don’t have a gender nor a physical form). His species used to be like humans until they ‘ascended’ beyond need for food, emotions and physical bodies. So that alien decided to give Earth an opportunity: to ascend or fight it. He planted a ‘hole’ in the future and sent out a message like ‘hey, in a few years smth will happen’ and people took it as a warning/threat. So they started the program you know from manhwa.

Geonho’s mom was a genius and contributed the most to the research for time travel and etc. And alien needed a physical form, so the alien inhibited her body and just lived there passively, not taking control or anything. But then Geonho’s mom, Dr. Jung, became pregnant and alien’s DNA affected him slightly (explains why he wasn’t affected in the future). His mom eventually became desperate for solution, because she didn’t want her son to suffer or die (very similar to how Geonho sacrificed himself for Haejung’s sake) and just went to the future herself alone to get all the necessary data, resulting in her disintegrating and ‘ascending’ her consciousness.

Then Geonho and his crew come in. They find the hole, analyse it, create the solution to get rid of it, but all die in the process. Except for Geonho. Geonho completes the mission, goes back, but then the alien’s plan got fucked. He planned to leave the Earth after ‘humans won’, but because he parasitised Geonho’s mom and when she died her consciousness fused with him, becoming one. He got stuck on Earth. So he used Dr. Jung’s voice to lure someone else back to the future.

Unfortunately (for alien), the one who came back was Geonho. Because alien is, technically, also Geonho’s parent and he was also fused with his mom, he couldn’t do anything to Geonho and just vanished together. Geonho spent only a few months in the future, but when he came back - five years have gone by.

The end is happy, so dw. Novel is mostly about a deeply depressed person who is slowly finding reason and desire to live. I found it beautiful.

Omg. A lot of things will happen and I'm so excited fir future chapters. But when mc went into the future, will he meet the ML,? Or will they meet when mc gets back to the past??

Basically what happens:

MC decides to go back. The doctor (his parents’ friend) was super against it and held MC back from doing it, but MC made up his mind and contacted higher-ups directly. Scared that he will change his mind, they sent someone to pick him up IMMEDIATELY.

While in the car, MC sends ML a text basically saying that something came up and he needs to leave immediately, wishing him to live happily. ML immediately calls and they have a conversation where MC says I’m going to move on, so don’t be too hung up on it. Then he takes out the battery out of his phone and spends a few months in the government facility with no contact.

Then when he comes back five years later (for MC it was just a few months), they meet again and have a happy end so dw.

im curious abt how they met up together, was it just by chance or did the ml do that thing where he goes to mcs house or do they just run into each other

When MC leaves, the government completely erased his traces, so ML couldn’t find him no matter what. The only thing that was left was the apartment he lived previously, so ML immediately started working his ass off to become a famous actor (so that Geonho would easy find him) and bought an apartment next door to Geonho’s, hoping that one day he would come back. He also kept his phone and number in case Geonho reaches out.

When Geonho comes back from future, Haejung is in another country working. But when he comes back he sees light in Geonho’s apartment and starts banging on the door. MC then opens the door and they meet again.
