someone spoil me, what happens to Eklis in the novel's end?

I don't remember much but there's a big fight in the climax towards the end against Leila. Eclis sacrificed himself, seemingly died but his body never found. Years later (side stories) Penelope found her somewhere as a wandering knight that helped her, but he doesn't remember her or his past.

He tells Penelope "If I can't have you, I'll take your body" or something along those lines after battles with callisto and is thrown into prison to where after Penelope frees him to go back to Delman, without his memories.
