HITOMI MY LOVE

Tbh it’s getting old Ken. Tarou did not ruin your fucking family. Nobody can force someone to “become” gay or bi, GROW THE FUCK UPP and like if anything the dad and mom probably just had a clean split and then they got together. I do not see Tarou knowingly pursuing the dad being a homewrecker like bffr.

Tarou is so sweet so it pisses me off seeing Ken’s little entitled ass always bitching about him like bro he does ur laundry and cleans ur house, and most importantly makes your dad HAPPY!!! Like grow tf up Ken especially how he avoided kirara for over a week cuz of it like PLEASEE that’s why I love Hitomi so much he’s always there for kirara and comforts him. If only he was ML

Incredibly disrespectful way PLEASEE. To be real there’s not really any respectful way to go after someone who has a partner, that’s why authors w most second leads in stories just have them keep pushing nd... Hila

I suppose my stance is that Hitomi's role as the 2nd lead is fundamentally disrespectful. I like him well enough as a character, he's cheeky and sassy, but for me, it doesn't take away from the fact that most of his actions in regards to Kirara are, at their core, disrespectful of his autonomy. I guess it's the same as how you get irritated with Ken for his treatment of Tarou; I get annoyed with Hitomi for his treatment of Kirara, because regardless of his other characteristics, I can't separate them from his constant ignoring of Kirara's boundaries. Even after that serious confession, Hitomi laughs and calls himself a masochist, and wonders when he should confess next, and it's just like... bro, how about never??

It always makes me wonder: what if he was pursuing Ken instead? What if he was a rival for Kirara? How do you think hot-headed Kirara would view someone constantly refusing to take no for an answer when it comes to wanting Ken's love? Especially someone as blunt and straightforward as Hitomi... I'm pretty sure Kirara would a) go absolutely crazy, b) cry, c) kick Hitomi's ass at least twice, and d) demand that Ken never speak to him again. I'm sure Kirara wouldn't be very happy with the situation at all, which makes it that much more ironic that he's so chill with Hitomi literally asking to sleep with him...

"Like if the author went the route of kirara actually liking the older brother making ken pursue him I know damn well he would use that same line." For what it's worth, I can only speculate about this, but I don't think Ken would use this line (even though he'd probably still remain close to Kirara and hope he would like Ken instead), because before they get together, when Ken still thinks Kirara likes his brother, he never once thinks anything along the lines of "I'm gonna make him like me instead," or "I'm gonna make him mine," but instead he tells Kirara to confess to Kyouichi, so he seems almost resigned to give up on Kirara right before Kirara confesses to him... but then again, Ken is also a possessive little dumbass, so who can say ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

(Also this whole discussion is a lot of fun, writing these long-ass paragraphs back and forth goes to show how invested we both are in this story, so thank you for engaging with me like this about these characters!)
