I'm sure something serious will happen soon however i can imagine only two things he will become nice and more lovely dovey with kyon or he will decide to break his heart and become a cruel asshole so kyon will decide to leave

I think Lucaon is having a crisis about his feelings toward Kyon, and thus avoids him. Kyon on the other hand feels lonely and might consider quitting if he thinks that Lucaon no longer cares about his existence. So Kyon might say something like "I'm thinking of leaving" and confused and panicked Lucaon will stop him.
