although it’s still the beginning of the new season, we’re slowly starting to see some small red flags in andrew’s behavior. who knows, he could’ve hurt himself by accident as we saw he’s horrible at hammering nails, malcolm could be a unreliable narrator. but we have seen from luke’s pov that andrew is practically good at everything so it’s weird that someone as smart and agile as him would hurt himself hammering a piece of wood.
but was he distracted by luke or was he feeling jealous that he wasn’t the center of luke’s attention anymore? throughout the whole chapter, we see luke getting called around so he isn’t by andrew’s side to converse with. HOWEVER, before andrew’s “accident” we can clearly see him reach for the scissors that’s under the table. also the scene where malcom was checking out the area, the focus wasn’t on the drill, or the hammer we see andrew using, it was on the scissors.
the author implies that andrew has anxiety, attachment, and maybeeee emotional suppression or PTSD mental issues, and i personally think he’s on the spectrum. andrew seems like the type of person who will put their all into the person they love to the point where it becomes a type of obsession.
tie that in with luke being his first everything basically becomes a recipe for a manipulative and yandere seme. not to mention, he lacks emotional regulation so whatever feeling he feels he acts on it fully as we saw in how he treated luke when he thought he was a stalker. he seems to act on it again as he’s taking his annoyance out (that luke keeps leaving him) on the project he’s working on as the onomatopoeia’s/sound words came rapidly and he seems to say something under his breath that malcolm can’t hear.
Andrew is just bad at using tools author confirmed it. They wanted to show that despite looking like a perfect person Andrew also have things he is not good at. But your analysis was good
