And I’ll add to this prediction by predicting that the mcs family might want to kill him, now they know he’s alive and favoured by the god. Because the death of the original lover (who our mc potentially reincarnated from) might be the reason they could use the evil god power for their benefit in the first place. And the mcs death could possibly have a connection to how they control the evil god.
I'll also add my own prediction. It could be that Mugo takes in sacrifices from the family to "devour" the whole family out of revenge. It could be that his lover came from that family and died by their hands. So the old man offers everyone up to mugo as a sacrifice.
Maybe not the MCs family but the main family thats been sacificing the MC's family branch. I can see these peasants not accepting that not killing people will not bring misfortune upon them indeed

Like, if you're trying to explain what's going on, and not saying what you think is gonna happen, that's a theory not a prediction
Here's my prediction: Lord Mugo loved someone deeply and that family killed that person which drove him crazy and turned him into some kind of bad spirit and the trauma caused a split into several personalities.
Now that he has found some kind of reincarnation or solace, the different alters are integrating slowly and healing from their trauma which is also why the mean Mugo didn't kill them, and the flowers bloom despite his presence.
He is less and less blinded by revenge because he is integrating.
Now my guess for the end is uke might become immortal.
