Back in the day when omegaverse was more or less not as big as it is now! Alot of the popular ones used to be dark romance/toxic romance and by default was associated with being 'bad' nowadays however if you see anyone complain about omegaverse not being good I just chalk it up to just parroting online rhetoric without thinking critically..
I know that in fanfic spaces omegaverse tend to be use to depict obsessive and toxic relationships but frankly speaking with how big omegaverse spread complaining about how omegaverse bad is so juvenile because more series have popped up with omegaverse as it's world building and many of them are fully green flags, wholesome, dwelve into topics about gender politics using omegvese as a lense etc etc basically it no longer can be only bad when it's so widespread
that however don't stop the average BL reader to be like omegaverse bad like bl tiktok has a gun to their head.. evidently I love how the omegaverse aspect of this story ties into how gender perception affects individuals!
Hmm I don’t mind giving them a chance here and there but I usually will assume they’re bad. It’s more a problem with base premise being more often than not just a tool to speed up sexual relations between characters. Like people always say for this and that other popular omegaverse with the black haired and elemental abilities, readers legit forget it’s an omegaverse. To me that just show me that usually the omegaverse aspect is kinda just unnecessary. The story can fully function without it so why have it kinda thing. Tbh similar things can be said with alcohol when it comes it being used as a similar tool but as least that doesn’t have the… connotation as the other user mentioned.
You are right though when it comes to the gender perception. It’s an interesting idea for there being another concept for gender and all that with its own societal implications. I just wish there could be a new universe made without the *coughs* implications. Even my coworker ranted to me the other day after learning about omegaverse.

I absolutely ADORE child care in any genre. So I do agree with the sentiment but uhh idk about seeing a dude go through the birthing process. I’m much happier to see them adopt rather. #normalizeadopting

Why so many people hate omegaverse? Like, it's ok if it's not omegaverse and is a good history, but if is a good story, what's the problem if it so happens to be omegaverse?
