Yeah, thats why i said story never said "they are couple" but come on lol. They go to cinema, holding hands, working together. They kissed and jeolous of each others etc etc. Five of them are friends at the end but you can see the "different kind of closeness" between the two.
Also i read "thank you for being my friend" part as her thanking Jay for approaching her when they first met. This doesnt mean they arent something more. Even they said "we are just friends", you could read them as "roommates". "Oh yeah, they kiss, date, do everything together. Its a hommie stuff. Certainly not lovers! They are just roommates!" LOL.
Honestly with how strict their environment is (and being Korea) it's understandable why either they don't know they are gay for each other or they can't come out about it.
Or they are couple but author didnt want to make too obvious because of this.
I think it's a mix of both. Considering how big it's gotten where it has a drama already the author might have wanted more people to see it and sneakily have them as a couple.
